I like light clean romance in a cozy mystery. Light romance that doesn’t overshadow the mystery since that’s why I read cozy mysteries. I don’t mind if the main character dates a law enforcement person or not as long as they are confident in themselves and bring that to the relationship. I do like romances that start with a friendship and then several books down the line blossom into a marriage. I do like the series to continue when the characters are married so we can see that side of the relationship too. I don’t like love triangles and cheating in cozy mysteries. I feel like the author writes a love triangle to add conflict when solving the mystery is enough of a conflict for me.

Wow it’s like we share a brain on all that! You like exactly the same elements in romance in cozies that I do. I loathe triangles and really dislike when the MC and her guy *are* a couple, they have disagreements all the time (not seen a whole lot but it’s annoying when it happens).
And it’s a worn-out trope for the guy to get overly worried about the MC ’cause she’s gonna do what she wants anyway lol. He might as well join forces and sleuth along with her lol.

I totally agree! I wish more cozy mysteries would have the love interest joining forces with the MC whether law enforcement or not instead of trying to stop them. Trying to stop them just make the MC want to investigate more and get them into more trouble. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
