Ainsley McGregor is a criminology professor and small business owner that recently came home to Sweet River, Texas from Chicago after a mysterious incident occurred. Her small business, Bless Your Art, is an artisan shop that she sells products the townsfolk make. She has a best friend Shannon that owns a coffee shop and there are many other townsfolk that we meet along the way. There is also a book club that meets in Ainsley’s shop that started as the Widows Circle that turned into a mystery book club and is now a crime solving group. Ainsley also has a loveable dog George, a younger brother Ryan, the police chief, and her brothers best friend Jake, the Fire Chief, and Sara, the coroner that are involved with the crime solving.
This is the third movie in the series and I’m very glad it’s continuing. In this mystery movie, Ainsley and her “book club” at Bless Your Art are sad there are no mysteries to solve in Sweet River so they decide to look at a cold case. The cold case they randomly pick just happens to involve a member of the “book club”. The” “book club” member agrees to looking into the cold case. The cold case involves a watch which was an interesting twist on a mystery and introduces a quirky new character to the series. Ainsley also enlists the help of her friend Sara Sweet River’s coroner. George, Ainsley’s Sheepdog makes an appearance but not enough in my opinion. I highly recommend this movie and movie series.
