1. Amateur sleuth or pro? Amateur sleuth
2. Small town or big city? Small Town. Although, I love the Black Cat Bookshop series by Ali Brandon and that takes place in New York but has a tight knit community like a small town. I love it.
3. Pet or no pet? Pet, I read a lot of cozies with dogs, cats, and birds.
4. Series or stand-alone? Series for sure. When I love a cozy, I want to spend more time in the settings and with the character.
5. Bakery or bookshop? Bookshops (Libraries also). I love eating baked goods more than reading about them.
6. Light & funny or darker cozy? Light and funny. I don’t like dark themes.
7. Seasonal theme or everyday setting? I read some seasonal themed cozies but I prefer everyday settings.
8. Single sleuth or sleuthing duo? Single sleuth but sleuthing duo or team when done right.
9. Romance subplot or strictly mystery? Romance subplot but keep it light and no love triangles.
10. Set in your own country or set abroad? Set in my own country. Cozies set outside my country don’t appeal to me at all. That may be because I have never travelled abroad.

I so glad the tag was fun for you too! We agree on a lot of the answers. I mainly read and like small town cozies but two series set in big cities that I enjoy are The Noodle Shop series by Vivien Chien and The Black Cat Bookshop by Ali Brandon. They both have great tight knit community feels just like a small town. I’m with you adding library with bookshops. Any cozy book related for me. Do you know of an cozy mysteries that have no romance? What cozy mystery series do you recommend set in other countries?

I don’t know of any cozy mysteries that don’t have romance in them. As far as set in other countries, the first one I think of is the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. Another series that I have heard really good things about and is on my Series to Start list this year is the Jane Wunderly series by Erica Ruth Neubauer. Each book takes place in a country the MC has traveled to. I can’t think of any others off the top of my head.

The Jane Wunderly series sounds fun going to different countries. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
