Jessica Fletcher is the OG of TV amateur sleuths. I grew up watching this show and cemented my love for mysteries.
Primary Setting: Cabot Cove, Maine. A few episodes set in other states (California, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Alabama, West Virginia, Idaho, Georgia, and New York).
Adrian Monk is an interesting eccentric characters solving crimes on TV. The show is heartfelt and funny with great mysteries.
Primary Setting: San Francisco, CA and surrounding area. One episode set in New York.
Shawn and Gus are my age and this has a lot of generational references for my part of Generation X. It’s funny and unique with great mysteries. Also, all of there odes to different shows (Twin Peaks) and movies (Friday the 13th, Hitchcock, The Exorcist) are chef’s kiss!
Primary Setting: Santa Barbara, CA and surrounding area
All very different shows and all worth a watch in my opinion!
